Don’t build the fire too high, sing too loud or laugh too heartily because he’s out there and he’s hungry.
The award-winning circus company Nikki & JD in collaboration with Lost Dog create an outdoor show that combines circus, dance, theatre and live music to re-enact the original horror story. The one about the monster, and the monster’s mother, and the dragon and the hero and the severed limbs.
Dark, comic and physically dangerous this is a modern re-telling of that ancient epic, Beowulf.
Nikki & JD
Nikki & JD are an acrobatic duo with a unique blend of skills in circus and contemporary dance. Since the beginning of their collaboration, they have sought to push and refine our use of hand-to-hand acrobatics, dance, and storytelling.
Their ambition is to achieve strong storytelling while dancing what needs to be danced. We believe that acrobatics and movement are two ingredients that should support, and not distract, from the stories we tell.

Participation and Engagement Activities
Before each show, Nikki & JD will have a lantern making workshops for adults and children. The lanterns will be used in the show.
Nikki & JD also have a wide range of circus and dance workshops available on demand. Workshops are aimed at professional performers, and those that are new to the art form.
