FeelPlay is an exciting new innovation in playing your way to great mental health! It’s for adults only. Sorry kids! Sometimes play is just too serious to leave to the little ones.  We’ve got an award-winning app and a multi-award-winning playground designed specially to help adults remember how to play. FeelPlay is supported by a myriad of organisations both governmentally and in the private spectrum, who all work together to encourage you and you alone to take responsibility for YOUR mental health.

FeelPlay is a 45 minute long physically distanced interactive audio experience for as many people who want to give it a try, hosted by a team of FeelPlay staff.

FeelPlay is the new creation by immersive theatre maestro, Christopher Green, who has won awards and great acclaim for making the kind of show where you join in, have fun and then start to question the world around you. This satire on the wellness industry both questions a specific kind of mental-health provision whilst delivering a genuinely feel-good and empowering experience.

Christopher Green

Christopher Green is an multi-award winning performer and writer who has appeared all over the world, works for the biggest cultural institutions in the UK, and has nice hair.

“I am an entertainer. I do this through writing and performing. I do lots of very varied projects because I’m lucky enough to be able to follow my interests and make work about them. It seems that I’m interested in lots of things.

All of my work involves encouraging the audience to get involved – directly in the case of my experiential work or as Ida Barr leading the Hokey Cokey – but indirectly I always encourage some kind of response from simply leaning in to take more notice, to getting up and taking some action.  Everything comes down to entertainment. It’s my way of doing things. There are lots of others and I like a lot of them, but for me, I need to give you a few gags, some songs, some wry observations and some showbiz skills to justify taking up your time.”

Preferred pronouns: they/them.

Practical

Practical Information

  • Set-up: Outdoor

  • Running time: 45 minutes. Total running time includes audience arrival, introduction, 30 minute guided audio experience using a digital app and departure

  • Touring party: 3

  • No technical requirements

  • Performance site is key: an open space next to a playground is thematically interesting. The size of the performance site determines the maximum capacity of audience members. In a festival context, FeelPlay should be sited in a space where other performances are scheduled, but not scheduled on top of other performances.
